The Health & Safety Seminar for Leisure & Aquatic Facilities taking place on 23rd June, at the Glenroyal Hotel, Maynooth, Co.Kildare, have confirmed the following Panel to speak at the Seminar on their relevant topics.
Ralph Riley, is the UK expert to the Central European Norm Group for Swimming Pool Safety Standards, the UK Convenor for European and World Technical Standards for Sports Equipment and also a director of the UK’s leading Pool Water Treatment Advisory (PWTAG) Group. Ralph was the Chief Executive of the lnstitute of Sport and Recreation Management, based at Loughborough University for over 20 years, and in addition is a Director of Swimathon, Chair BSI S13/WG8 Swimming Pools & Aquatic Equipment, Chair of BSI SW136 ‘Sports, playground & other recreational facilities & equipment and UK Member ISO TC83 Sports Standards
Mark Bagnall, CMIOSH, is the Health, Safety & Environmental Officer for Nuffield Health. Nuffield Health is the one of the UK’s leading Healthcare Providers, with more than 200 corporate facilities to help people get healthy, and stay healthy. Mark oversees Health & Safety in over 31 hospitals, 77 gyms, physiotherapist network and more than 200 corporate facilities. Mark will be sharing his valuable insights into the necessary requirements & issues that can arise in Health & Leisure Facilities with regards to Health & Safety.
Richard Lamburn, MSTA, has over ten years of experience of working in the pool water treatment industry. He commenced his career from a practical side supplying technical support and maintenance for the largest public authority portfolio of pools within the UK. In 2011 Richard commenced work at the STA as the Technical manager for pool plant with the mission to develop suitable and sufficient training for Pool Plant Operators in the UK, ensuring that qualifications are suitable, sufficient and technically accurate for the industry. Richard also sits on the PWTAG technical committee and various standard setting bodies including PHE and national occupational standards for the UK market. Richard has delivered a variety of educational seminars on pool water treatment both in the UK, Europe and Asia.
Robert Byrne, TechIOSH, Pool & Leisure Safety Consultant has over 20 years experience in the Leisure Industry which includes over 10 years at senior management level. Robert has managed projects with a total value of over £20 million pounds from final build stages, to pre-launch and operations once launched. In addition Robert is a UK Expert in Swimming Pool Operations, who writes and delivers courses on a range of subjects including Pool Plant Operations. He has just developed the first Pool Plant Qualification to be accredited by IOSH, and is a representative of the UK Expert Working Group, developing new Pool Plant Operating Standards. In addition Robert is accredited by the UK Pool Water Treatment Advisory Group
